The Noodles

Penang, an island city in Malaysia, is well known as a Food Paradise.

To quote Australian restaurant critic and food writer Pat Nourse:
“Penang establishes the benchmarks and resets your perspective on just how good hawker food can be. You’ve got the choice of the familiar, which will be presented to you with new clarity, and plenty of stuff you won’t see anywhere else”.
An American writer, Lina Goldberg, who is a street food enthusiast based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; rates Penang as “Asia’s 10 greatest street food cities” and “one of the world’s top dining destinations”.

MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodles are instant food versions of the famous Penang curry noodles or “mee” in the local Chinese Hokkien dialect. It is known as curry laksa elsewhere in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. In Penang, the locals call it curry mee to make it easier to differentiate from the Assam Laksa, which is a sour fish soap with white thick laksa noodles.

MyKuali Packs with logo 960x1024 The Noodles

Each packet of MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle comes with a sachet of non-dairy creamer along with a packet of chilli paste and soup powder. The chilli paste is made from
fish stock, shrimp paste, spices and chillies and is very similar to the “sambal” used by hawkers in Malaysia.

The weight of each noodle packet is 110g net and comes in sleeves of 4 packets.

The Ramen Rater describes the noodles as:

“The ultimate! The noodles are just the right texture and gauge – not too wide or too narrow with a chewiness that is perfection. The broth is amazing – extremely spicy (hit #7 on the 2013 Spiciest Instant Noodles list), and features a strong curry flavor and a hearty finish. I am truly impressed with this one and would consider it to be the one I would love to eat every day. Bravo!”
